GUARD THE LENS OF YOUR HEART

When you look at a lens of spectacles that is not designed for your sight, your image will look distorted. When you look at a subject or a person, that has not changed, but your perception of it did.

Many times, we think our problem is our circumstance, but often the issue is the lens through which we are seeing.

The enemy’s first attack in Eden was not against Eve’s behaviour. It was against her perception. The enemy main aim is to get Eve to come into AGREEMENT with the perception.

Satin changed how Eve saw:

  • God
  • Herself
  • The opportunity before her

Once Eve believed/agreed with the lie, her perception changed and her actions followed her belief.

GUARD YOUR LENS

Reading: 2 Corinthians 6:14 and 7:1.

Paul warns about partnerships, agreements, fellowship, and harmony.

The issue isn’t merely who is around us, even Jesus sat with sinners and remained pure.

The issue is what we are agreeing with.

Every day we choose which lens we will look through:

  • Fear or faith
  • Rejection or acceptance
  • Lack or promise
  • Offense or forgiveness
  • Lies or truth

The lens we choose determines what enters our heart.

PERCEPTION SHAPES CHOICES

Progression of perception: Perception → Choice → Direction → Destiny → Generations

What we repeatedly believe influences what we repeatedly choose.

What we repeatedly choose becomes the direction of our lives.

And the direction of our lives affects not only us, but those who come after us – our generation.

A choice is never just a choice – It is a seed and this seed WILL grow into something and bear fruit.

GUARD THE GATES OF YOUR HEART

When you take a glass, the glass can represent you, the vessel. You can pour water in the glass, the water can represent the perspective of God, Papa’s heart, the living water, the water can also represent your thoughts and perception, how you interpret your world, your circumstances and how you see God. When you pour dirt into the water, the dirt can represent lies, trauma, offence, wrong agreements, small compromises and so forth.

“How much dirt do you think it takes before the water is no longer pure?” Not much.

The same is true in our hearts. – Contamination begins with one small wrong agreement

Contamination begins with a small yes that should have been a NO, a small “no” today leads to a greater impact tomorrow.

Satin only need us to AGREE with…

  • One offense
  • One unhealthy influence
  • One lie we keep believing

What am I allowing to gain agreement with my heart?

What enters repeatedly eventually influences what flows out.

The spectacles determine what enters. – The water reveals what remains.

  • Whatever gains agreement eventually gains influence.
  • Whatever gains influence eventually shapes identity.
  • Whatever shapes identity eventually directs destiny and the inheritance.

THE TREASURE

People often focus on contaminated behaviour – God focuses on contaminated identity!

The opposite of contamination is not only purity – The opposite of contamination is CLARITY!

God wants to restore clear sight – Restore how we see our identity – Looking through the lens of His heart!

If a compass alignment is out with 1degree thee ship will crash – Spiritual shipwrecks don’t begin with rebellion or disobedience – it begins with misalignment.

Many of us don’t struggle because we are rebellious or even disobedient, we struggle because we often look into life through wounded lenses – misaligned lenses.

A wounded lens shapes a different “reality” and leads to a different path…

Disappointment becomes a lens.

Fear becomes a lens.

Past hurts become a lens.

Unanswered prayers become a lens.

Yet, God continually invites us to see through His perspective – He continually invites us into one small surrender that leads to LIFE, that will gave eternal impact!

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:

  1. What lens have I been looking through?
  1. What am I currently allowing through the gates of my heart?
  1. If I continue seeing through this lens for the next five years, who will I become?

CLOSING

I see holiness as Papa protecting the sacred space, what flows into our HEARTS.

Every false agreement occupies territory that actually belongs to truth.

Every compromise occupies territory that belongs to trust.

Every idol occupies territory that belongs to intimacy.

Let us remain vigilant to guard the gates of our hearts – Protect the lens through which you see.

What we repeatedly choose to see today will shape the inheritance we leave tomorrow, and will impact our generation.

I pray that God would reveal any distorted lenses and restore clear sight so you can see Him, yourselves, and your future through the lens of Papa’s truth.

Guard the lens of your heart. Everything else flows from that!

Blessings Marisca
